On the 29th we had to go take Kenneth to get tested because he had jaundice, that was heart breaking to watch since they have to poke their foot. :( Afterwards we went back home and just relaxed, waiting to hear from the doctor. When we did we found out we had to go get a bili-blanket for Kenneth to be on. Tim's mom showed up around 5 and gave us lots of presents that people from Washington had given her. She made us some waffles for dinner and then we spent the rest of the evening relaxing.
The 30th was Tim's and my anniversary, we also had a doctor's appointment for Kenneth that we went too. That day was mostly spent just relaxing at home for me though, Tim went to work for a little bit but otherwise was pretty chill.
On the 31st we had to take Kenneth in to get his blood tested again. His levels had risen to 18.6 where they had been 14.4 before. I did not like that, and so we again stuck at home keeping Kenneth just in his diaper and in the sun so that he got both sides exposed to the UV lights. Tim and his mom went and ran some errands, and later that evening Tim and I went and got some ice cream to celebrate our anniversary. While Kenneth stayed home with his Grandma. Kenneth doesn't seem to like it when I have ice cream so I'm staying away from it for a while and then will try it again to see if it true. I had it two nights in a row and both nights he did not sleep well! But that could be pure coincidental, which I'm hoping for. :)
The 1st of January we stayed at home, Tim was going to go to church but since we were up half the night with Kenneth decided against it. Only because church is at 9:30 am. Once we got enough sleep we took Kenneth to get his levels tested again. We didn't hear anything about the results all day. Wasn't a fan of that! But we tried to relax and just kept Kenneth on the lights as much as possible and exposed to the sun as well. For our church activity though we watched the Testaments that our wonderful friends let us barrow. :)
The 2nd of January, we finally heard from the doctors and told us that Kenneth's levels dropped back down to 14 something. So we had to still keep him on the bili-blanket but didn't have to have him tested again until the next day! Tim's mom was kind enough to let Tim and I go down to Idaho Falls to run a couple errands, while she watched Kenneth. It was very weird leaving my baby and going shopping with out him. But we got done what we needed too. :)
The 3rd of January, I took Kenneth to get his levels tested again with Tim's mom. Afterwards we went to the school and picked up some of my textbooks. Once we got back, she had to leave to go back home to work. It was very nice having her here and not having to worry about cooking or cleaning. I was able to focus on Kenneth and what he needed! We heard from the doctor later this day and found out that Kenneth's levels had dropped down to 10 something so we didn't have to do the treatments any more!
