Sickness go away!
I wrote this to document Kenneth's sickness he's had for the past 2 weeks. :( He came down with a cold when Tim had one then it started going away around the same time Tim's was, great no big deal.
A couple days later he started sounding really bad, congested and having trouble breathing bad. I decided he probably needed to go to the doctor to make sure nothing was serious. We went and he had the beginning of a sinus infection and ear infection. :( Plus the doctor was worry it might turn into bronchitis soon with how he was sounding and considering he had been sick for at least a week at this point decided it was more then a viral thing. So he put him on antibiotics and we diligently, made sure he got it twice a day like needed. Right after leaving the doctor he had a nasty sounding cough, it sounding like he was barking but it was very dry.
That night was very long for him and I. Tim and I originally put him down to bed in his crib and he fell asleep without much fuss. Tim then leaves to go to a magic tournament, an hour or so later Kenneth wakes up crying and coughing. :( I pick him up and try to calm him down but it is clear he won't be going back to sleep in his crib soon. So we go in my room and I lay down with him on my chest. Eventually he falls asleep but no more then 10 mins stretches before he's awake crying again. Around 3 he finally fell asleep until about 7. Tim had gotten home around 6:30 and put Kenneth in his bed. Luckily he just wakes to eat something and goes back to sleep for another couple of hours.
After that night he goes back to being a good sleeper and even starts to get better. Then again not even a few days later he starts getting worse again. :( this time the cough his very wet sounding almost to the point that he sounds like he's going to throw up each time he coughs. He of course hates this as well. Then that Saturday when he was at our friend's Mike and Kenna's he was acting very unlike himself and thinking back had been having the same symptoms the last couple days too. He woke up at his normal time like I told her he would but just wanted to be held and eventually fell back asleep. Which is what he had done the two days before. While out running errands he was very clingy and even fell asleep on my shoulder without any fuss. That's when I knew he must have something more wrong then what the antibiotics were fighting off. That night when we got home I checked his temp and it was 101.8 taken from his armpit. We gave him some Tylenol and hope that will help him sleep and bring the fever down. The next morning he still had a fever and since I wasn't feeling very well either we all stayed home from church. Kenneth spent most of that day sleeping, when he did wake he would cry, eat something get a dosage of medicine and sleep again. Luckily he slept most of that night.
Yesterday I took him to the doctor again after talking to my sister and mom about what had been going on and especially with his cough. The doctor said he had a croupy cough but otherwise his ears and everything else looked good. So he gave us some steroids to help take care of it! He also mentioned that they had seen a lot of cases this winter where kids would get one thing after another. I hope this is the last thing we get and that he's healthy again like normal!
For this mom wants her happy baby back that will play with his toys and not need held constantly!
