As I mentioned in my last post one of our friend's lost their little girl. On the 12th of September I went to her funeral with another lady that had been in the ward and still lived in Rexburg.
We arrived and were able to go into the viewing. The spirit was so strong inside that room. I felt for our friends and seeing their beautiful little girl laying there seemed so surreal. Ella was beautiful she had a blue flower clip in her hair, blue finger nails, and was holding blue flowers. Her hair was done beautifully like her mom was always doing for her. I gave Nicole and Stu both hugs and said how sorry I was for them. Even though they know the bigger picture in that moment they were grieving and should be allowed to do that.
After the viewing we moved into the chapel and I was amazed as I saw the number of people that were there and even old members of the ward that had moved away that had come. Even our old Bishop that lives in Utah had come up to support them. Some of the people their I had no idea how close they were to this family as they had moved out shortly after we had moved in and so it was good to see those connections.
The actual funeral was amazing. Every time something was brought up that I could feel myself about to cry, a funny moment from Ella's life was brought up and I was laughing. One of my favorites was how she loved Nephi and would often tell her mom that she was about her father's business. I also loved hearing about how she would often ask her mom when she would get to see Jesus. She would often ask Mom can we see Jesus today. Ella was such a special little girl, that was so clear.
Ella was so special too me, she was one of my nursery kids back when I was pregnant with Kenneth. I loved when she would come in because she was so sweet and innocent. She was one of our calm kids. After I had Kenneth and was released from Nursery I still got to see her often because she lived in the building next to ours. I loved seeing her and her spunky attitude. Nicole and Stu had their son, they didn't have a lot of clothes and since we were so blessed with too much. I often was going through our extras and had Nicole coming over to go through them so their little boy could have more clothes. Ella of course would come and I just loved having her there.
If I remember more I will write it down. I waited way too long to write this post and unfortunately have forgotten some of the events and stories that were told during funeral about this sweet girl.
