One thing that i had done this past couple of weeks was go down to conference with my two best friends Kayla Armstrong and RaeAnn Newman. We left Friday night as soon as Kayla was off of work and it was an enjoyable trip, we listened to some mixed Cd's that RaeAnn made the whole way down. Around 10 or 11 o'clock Tim called me and we talked the best we could until Salt Lake City when we were trying to find a hotel that Kayla's Grandpa was staying at and our tickets for our sessions were at. Once we got the tickets we headed to my Aunt Janine's and Uncle Bill. We were greeted by Uncle Bill and shown where we'd be sleeping. We were all exhausted and sense Kayla and RaeAnn were going to the Saturday morning session we all went to bed.
The next morning I was awaken by the smoke detectors going off downstairs by my bedroom. At first i thought it was one of my cousins alarms, because it was about 9:30 so they might be setting their alarm to be a good teenager and get up in time to watch conference. But alas when i got up and left the room i was greeted by aunt Janine and uncle Bill coming down to check why the smoke detectors were going off and why none of their children were getting up to the noise. I then proceeded upstairs to try and stay out of the way because i didn't know what to do in that situation especially where there was no noticeable smoke in the house. They found the offending smoke detectors and then one other went off upstairs. I then decided to call my father to see if he could help us figure out what was going on, the conclusion was that the wire that connected those three detectors had gone faulty and decided to go off then. After this joy we all then proceeded to watch the morning session of conference and eat breakfast. After conference was over i went downstairs and got dressed and grabbed my book to keep myself occupied until Kayla and RaeAnn got back. Tim and i also talked for about an hour in between the sessions. Once the girls got back the three of us left to go get RaeAnn's brothers who were dying to see her. We had a blast with them and we listened to conference in the car while driving around and went and grabbed some dinner from Zubs. Then once we dropped her brothers back off we met up with a couple of our friends that was down there for conference as well and headed over to one of their sister's apartments. With everyone there we started watching old movies from the eighties for the most part and after one of them, Tim called me and me talked for about three hours until, Kayla and RaeAnn were ready to go back to my aunt's. Once back to aunt Janine's we all crashed again because we were exhausted from our days activities.
The next morning Kayla and I woke up and got ready for our session of conference that morning. RaeAnn dropped us off down at the conference center and headed back down to her brothers' place to spend time with them. Conference was so amazing, we had amazing seats and i was able to meet Kayla's grandpa one of the general authorities and a couple others including Elder Packer who spoke Saturday morning. It was awesome to meet them and feel the love they had for you even though they don't know you like a family member, but since they have the spirit with them they have a true love of everyone. I loved it. After Music and the Spoken Word and Conference we went to lunch in the church office building with Kayla's grandpa and other family members that were there. Then RaeAnn met us down on temple square and we walked around during the last session of conference taking pictures, talking, and listening to conference. IT was so much fun and i enjoyed every min of it. After we were done walking around, mostly tired we decided to go back to Aunt Janine's and packed up. After i was packed up i talked with Tim some more and then once they were ready to leave we left. We talked for quite a while in the car but Kayla and I both crashed for a couple hours because we were exhausted. It was such an enjoyable trip and something that I've been needing to do, just get out of the valley here in Boise and enjoy my time with friends not worrying about anything else. The Trip was so much fun and I'm very thankful to Aunt Janine and Uncle Bill for letting the three of us come stay with them that weekend.
