Christmas

This year for Christmas the entire family was here and I loved it!!!! The major down fall was Tim wasn't there because he was spending it with his family just one last time before there became any in-laws :) It was lots of fun Christmas eve having everyone show up and seeing them. Especially seeing the kids play together. We had our traditional Christmas Eve program but in which each family shares something together. Jared and I had to argue with the older kids because we technically at that point were still part of mom and dad's family seeing how we lived underneath their roof and everything was provided by them. But they said no we had to present something so both of us just chose a Christmas hymn to sing as a family. Afterwards we helped the kids get ready for bed and played some games together, waiting for Mom's flight to get in so we could see her. But dad said that we couldn't stay up that late even though she called him once it arrived and we knew how long it would take for her to get to the house. So we all needless to say made the process of getting ready for bed a lot longer then it needed to be :). But hey we hadn't seen our mom/mother-in-law since October and for some of us that was just to long. So before bed we saw mom and then I attempted to fall asleep and once i did get to sleep, it seemed like mom was waking me up, so that she could see me in my wedding dress and see what need to be altered so that it looked the best possible. So I tried it on and was pretty surprised that it actually fit with out wearing the spanx i had bought to help it fit better. Go me! I hadn't been trying to hard to loose anything but was very thankful that it came off so that my dress was loose on me :). Anyways we let kids wake at their leisure, so that we didn't have to endure any meltdowns that day and once they were all woken dad had breakfast made and all of us adults were dressed. After breakfast and dishes, we lined up to see what Santa got us, this time oldest to youngest. So the parents could be in there to see their kids reactions ;). I received a boy scout dutch oven, a dutch oven cookbook, and a Sunday meal cookbook. (traditional present from parents is a dutch oven, typically after the wedding :)) Then after everyone saw what they got we divided out presents and took turns opening. I love this tradition since you get to see whomever you gave presents too reactions to their presents. For Christmas i received, a pink byu-i sweater, wallet, fabric scissors, a bar of dark chocolate, slippers (returned due to being too small :( ) and pink fleece pj bottoms. Tim and i received a box of owyhee toffee, digital picture frame, apples to apples, 4 talks on CD, and a book. After presents we hung out playing games and just enjoying each others company until dinner, in which we still enjoyed each others company and afterwards as well :)
