Not much has happened in our lives between the trip to Boise and Thanksgiving. The Sunday in between we did attend the Temple Re-dedication for the Boise temple and that was so awesome to go to. I cried though because one of the speakers talked about my favorite Seminary Teacher who has terminal Pancreatic cancer. It was an amazing talked and reminded me of how blessed Tim and I are to have been married in the temple and that all our kids are automatically sealed to us, what a great comfort as a mom.
For Thanksgiving we thought we would be stuck in Rexburg until Thursday night because Tim would have to work Thanksgiving Day. Thankfully he didn't have to and still had Friday off. So he took Wednesday off too and we did a few things around the apartment before heading out to my parents. We got there and unloaded just before Liz and Joe arrived. It was fun talking to Elizabeth and playing, plus seeing Grandpa who made a pit stop there before going down to Utah.
Thanksgiving day we got up and had yummy orange rolls for breakfast, then Mom, Elizabeth, Joe, Asher, Kenneth, and I went grocery shopping. When we got back we started working on different dishes for dinner and Elizabeth and I even played some games together when we had a break waiting for the turkey to get done. Once it was ready we ate and boy was it delicious. Kenneth even sat in a booster seat, but that proved to be a bad idea later when he came crashing down and hit his head, luckily he stopped half way down on Tim's leg but he certainly let us know that it wasn't fun, I even started to cry while trying to comfort him. It was one of those moments that moved so slowly that I thought I could stop him but, I couldn't move fast enough to stop him. After dinner and cleaning up we all hung out together, I ended up falling asleep around 7 and didn't wake for an hour and half, that wasn't a good thing because by the time everyone else was ready to sleep I was wide awake and watched a movie on my laptop trying to unwind and get sleepy. Instead of venturing out this year, we did a little online shopping. I loved it, I was able to look at comforter sets and found one for about 60% off the original (later the next day it had risen). I think this may become our new tradition, only next year I hope we have the ads, so we know what's on sale before. Ben and Sara arrived during that time and it was a good surprised because we had been told they couldn't come anymore
Friday, we woke up and had hotcakes for Breakfast, we then all got ready and went to take family pictures. It was so fun and made me excited when Tim and I go take some more for Kenneth's first birthday. After family pictures we ate lunch and then Emily and Maddie watched Brave with me, which I again took a nap during but not as long. Afterwards mom and Sara made dinner, which was delicious. We then all made graham cracker houses, helping the four kids who made them. It was fun and afterwards they went to bed. Sara and I talked while Ben and Liz exercised. Kenneth threw up then in his sleep. :( He had no idea what was going on and after Liz helped clean up the pack n play. Kenneth got bath and went back to sleep no problem. That night was long, he woke again around 2 and kept throwing up for a while, the clean up was much easier after the first time, though because we put a towel down. Tim being an awesome daddy, gave him a blessing to help him sleep after an hour of him being sick. He thankfully slept for a while afterwards.
Saturday, Kenneth wasn't happy with us, Mom(Grandma) said not to give him formula just yet and he didn't want the 7up grandma had. After a little while of him screaming I made some homemade Pedilyte and he look that much easier, but still didn't want it. During this time Tim was packing up for us to go home since he had to work that night.
I'm so glad my parents lived close enough for us to go visit and didn't have to spend most of the time in a car traveling. :)
