Doctor's appointment

We went to the doctor yesterday. It was time for Kenneth's well check up.

He's has certainly grown the last few months,

Height is 31 inches
Weight is 22 pounds
Head Circumference is 19.3 inches

I brought up my concerns to the doctor and instead of just brushing them off as no big deal he actually asked some questions to help figure out things.

Walking: Since Kenneth will walk holding our fingers and therefore is putting weight on his feet he said it's okay. Especially since he pulls himself up and if he really wants something will cruise to get it.

Talking: He mainly asked about his hearing. That seems to going pretty good and no noticeable problems. He also asked if he will mimic us which he doesn't. I don't know if he's being stubborn or just doesn't know how too. This has been Tim's and mine biggest concerned. He also asked me about how many ear infections Kenneth had but he has had only two or three and they were never close together.

So with both those addressed he told me not to worry just yet and to keep doing what we're doing. The doctor did say that he thinks these next couple months will be busy and changing for Kenneth with him picking up talking and walking. If he hasn't by his next appointment then we'll evaluate what is going on and search for the answers.

Funny story my sister told when I was telling her my concerns, she had done a similar thing, talking a little here and there and then not talking at all. Then one day just started talking in full sentences. It made me happy to hear and helped calmed me a little more.

I realize Kenneth is still in the normal range for not walking and not talking, but like so many friends said it's hard not to be concerned as a mom. I need to try to be better at not comparing him to others, he's is own person and is progressing.
