Since I have yet to officially announce on here. We're having a baby! Everyone who reads this should know that. But I want to recall some of the details that I've been neglecting and I don't want to forget.
We found out when I was almost 6 weeks pregnant. I had a crazy long cycle the month before and so I had no plans to check until I was past that long cycle number of days.
I went into see the midwife that week, from having the two miscarriages. They didn't want to do an ultrasound yet just in case it was still to early to see anything.
Luckily they let me come back two weeks later for the ultrasound. I remember going to that appointment and freaking out. I was so worried and Tim calmed me down saying it would all be okay either way. Thankfully the baby was there, with it's perfect little heart beat going! Relief came!
Thanksgiving week Mom, Elizabeth, and I got to see the baby again. I was 11 almost 12 weeks. Mom took us to her office! It was great. This time the baby was more baby looking, I also started feeling little twitches this weekend while trying to fall asleep, I'm a stomach sleeper and stay that way for as long as I can stand it.
I had my next appointment the following week, it was the glorious hearing the heartbeat appointment.
5 weeks later I had my next appointment. The four week mark would have been while we were in Vancouver. I was so anxious to hear that heart beat. This appointment I had lost 5 pounds. Not surprising when I had the stomach flu twice during that period. Luckily everything with the baby still looked good.
3 weeks later is when we found out we were having another boy. :) We're excited. Everyone keeps saying how lucky we are since we already have a boy. But I know we have quite a few outfits that won't work regardless of the season, shorts during the middle of winter? So we'll be going through all the clothes to see what we need to get this baby to work with what we had with Kenneth.
We're so excited for this baby to come. We're nervous about the time this baby is due in June. But more on that later. Kenneth is so excited for a baby brother. Sometimes I wonder how much he grasps that mom has a baby in her tummy and other times I think he understands it completely.
One day when I was laying on the couch resting Kenneth was talking to the baby and then started telling me about a door. From what I could gather and he told others later. He thinks there's a door in my tummy that needs to open to get the baby out. Right now the baby is stuck because the door is closed. He even talked about a button that will open the door. We haven't ever told him how the baby is suppose to come out so I was very impressed that he came up with this on his own. Even a week later he still talks about the door and tells his brother to come on. Which we then explain that we have to wait until June and it's February.
I have been having a pretty good pregnancy, only threw up once, not related to having the stomach flu or bronchitis which I think is pretty good. I have been graced already with heartburn but have found how to keep it at bay so that's nice. Hopefully that continues until the end. With Kenneth it got bad at the end. I feel a lot bigger this time around too, so either this baby boy will be huge or my body is hopefully just realizing it's done this before and just let go earlier.
We have taken a couple belly pictures so here is one. I was 16 weeks, my belly popped during this week.
