I want to write this down before I forget to much, because honestly everything went by so quickly and fast that I still have to think about it all.
This birth story I feel starts a couple weeks before. At my 35 week appointment on May 14, my awesome doctor was at a delivery so I was stuck waiting for him for a while. He apoligized for being late and keeping me waiting but then we got down to business. At 35 weeks he does the group b strep test, checks to see if baby is head down, and checks for dilation. All in one fell swoop. At this time I found out I was dilated to a 1 and was 60% effaced. I was not to worried about that since with Kenneth I had dilated early too, but made it past 39 weeks with no problems.
That Saturday, Mom, Dad, Kenneth, and I went to Boise for the day. Mom and Dad did their own thing and I hung out with my Grandpa and his wife Carol. I could have stayed home alone with Kenneth but wasn't really feeling like dealing with him alone and Mom and I felt better that I would have someone around to take me to a hospital if needed. That day I started having back pain. Didn't think much of it but it didn't go away and at one point Mom felt my stomach and said you're having contractions.
The following Wednesday May 21st I had another appointment. My doctor tells me I am Group B positive including the whole you have to get to the hospital as soon as labor starts to not wait at home so I can have the antibiotics for the full four hours before Thomas was born. Then checked me again and was talking about how I had been a 1 and so we could see if the contractions were doing anything. Well he gives me this look of concern as he's telling me I'm a 3. He proceeds to tell me I have to take it easy because he wants me to last another couple weeks, to get to 38 weeks. Later that day from mom, I'm told just how concerned he is and that my cervix feels like a laboring one.
