This year I was bound and determined to make it fun. I wanted to enjoy the day mostly to start getting good traditions set/started so that way our kids have something fun to look forward to each year.
The morning started out with a breakfast put on by our bishop. He came to our complex, accompanied by his wife, and son and made the entire ward pancakes. :) They were delicious! It was fun to see everyone all together, before the day's activities started.
We then left and met up with some friends from the ward the Welch's to watch the parade. We decided to sit by a tree so that we were somewhat in the shade. Kenneth slept for the first part of it, but then enjoy watching it once he woke up.
After the parade we walked around a fair they had going around at one of the parks. There wasn't much set up though so we decided to leave and get some Jimmy John's for lunch! Once back home Tim and Kenneth stayed home and I left with Brittany to go to Idaho Falls.
We went to Fred Meyer's, Orange Leaf (a frozen yogurt place), and then went to watch a movie together. That was lots of fun to do. :) I did fall asleep in the movie like I do usually in movie theaters lately at least. :)
Once we were done in Idaho Falls, Tim made us a yummy dinner and we ate that then went to hang out with our friends the Welch's again. While there we decided we should go get some fireworks to help contribute to what the Welch's had already bought. Luckily for us the place we went had everything marked down 60%. That was nice because we got about 60 dollars worth of fireworks for about 18.
Once back from getting them we decided we would start setting off some of the daytime ones. We invited some other friends to come watch and they had some fireworks too. So we had a nice little show to watch. Plus everyone else in the complex that had some we were able to watch. We even caught glimpse of the Rexburg City's fireworks for a little bit. Kenneth enjoyed the fireworks overall. Except when one exploded, he was not a fan of that at all!
Luckily he slept great for us once we finally got him to sleep and even slept in the next day! Can't complain when that happens!
Here's some photos of that day:
