Thoughts on Motherhood Part 2

Secondly kind of related to breastfeeding. Is formula, I have a love/hate relationship with it. Mostly I love it that my son has been nourish and been full for the last couple months. I hate how complicated it really is. Not only do we have to worry about making sure his diaper bag has diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes. But now we have to make sure we have a bottle, formula, and water to make him a bottle. I really miss the convince of just throwing/keeping in my nursing cover and going to where ever we wanted. It was so much easier! Yet another reason I look forward to nursing our next one for much much longer!
I hate how it somehow ends up everywhere on the counter we're preparing it on even when we do our best not to spill! Also bottles, I'm so sick of those and cleaning them. Lately I've been throwing them in the dishwasher because cleaning them by hand drove me nuts and I would wait until the very last possible bottle was left to clean them. I will gladly switch Kenneth over to regular milk and water when the time comes. He already likes water, the few sips he's had on hot, hot days.

Its so interesting to read this for me. I just switched jackson to formula and soft tip sippies and LOVE it. But jackson was a slow nurser and had to use a nipple shield. I feel like formula is so much faster and easier. No pumping, keeping milk cold, warming it up, or anything. So i just find it interesting that we are having such opposite experiences....

If I had the option I would have given up on hand washing bottles long ago! A dishwasher is a must for the next house! Its funny because I am so different from you with breastfeeding. I had the hardest time with it, it took 45 minutes for her to eat, they didn't make nursing bras in my size at the time so I had to strip down every time to feed her which meant I couldn't nurse where there was anywhere around. Once I stopped nursing I shrunk and all the back problems that I was having were gone. I would much rather wipe off the counter every time than go through that again. I'm glad it was so convenient for you and I hope the next one will be just as easy!
