So I made this quilt because I've been dying to make something for our baby, but not knowing the gender yet is hard because we don't want to have to many things one way and then it be the other way. :) Granted I know that could happen even with an ultrasound. Anyways back to the quilt, Tim and I were at Porter's (a local craft store) because I need some buttons for some flowers I learned how to make. Where the buttons are at is in the fabric section. So we looked around at some Minky fabric, because I really want to make us a blanket out of Minky for the winter time. :) Porters has lots of kits for quilts and I was looking at some of them and of course had to look at the baby ones and noticed the price. I knew Tim wouldn't go for the original price, but it was half off!!!! Tim knew that was a great deal, mostly because we look at those kits every time we go there and they're never on sale that cheap. So we got one, we decided on green since it was a good neutral color.
Since sewing and thinking about what I want nursery wise for a boy and for a girl, I have decided this quilt is for a boy and that if we have a girl then we can get another kit for her that's way more girly. Mostly because I'm all for frills and bows for a little girl. I have to get brown Minky for the backing and bind it together still, I think for the machine quilting part I might try to make it into a monkey designed, but that's a big might and only because we love monkeys here for a boy. :)
