Utah Fun

This past weekend I went to Utah to spend time with my family. I left Thursday evening with my friend Nikki Trickey to get over to Meridian. Like mentioned in my last post I have some dizziness/breathlessness problems, and didn't trust myself to drive to Utah and back alone (Tim had lots of homework to work on). Thursday evening wasn't exciting once we got to Meridian, which was fine.
Friday morning was spent playing with the kids while Liz got the car ready to leave, and helping them pack. Once she was back we quickly got everything ready to go. Once Joe was back from scout camp and Grandpa got there we were ready to leave. We dropped Grandpa off at the airport and then continued on our way. We arrived to Salt Lake area around 7:30, with only making one stop the whole way! :) We stopped at Ben and Sara's place which is where I stayed for the weekend. (thanks again) Then around 8 we head to the movie in the park, which was Shrek Forever After. It was so much fun seeing all the cousins get to play together, Amanda and her two oldest Luke and Keira were there with us too. After the movie we all headed back to our perspective places we stayed and went to bed.
Saturday morning, Ben, Sara, Kaidyn, and I woke up, got dressed, and headed out to breakfast. We went to the village inn and it was yummy!!! (I wish Rexburg had more exciting places to eat at for breakfast) Afterwards we headed to Liberty Park and met up with Amanda, Liz, Joe, and all their kids. We let all the kids run around and be crazy for about an hour and then headed to Ben and Sara's ward activity. There they had yummy food and carnival type games for the kids to do. All the kids except Kaidyn, Asher and Selena got their face painted. Once we were ready to leave because it was hot out, some of us made a quick trip to Costco. After Costco everyone met at Ben and Sara's to change into their swimsuits. We then headed down to a splash pad at Gateway mall. It was lots of fun and the perfect way to cool off. Asher and Selena were the only ones who didn't get wet intentionally. After the splash pad Ben, Sara, and I changed into different clothes taking turns because Kaidyn had fallen asleep in the car. We then went over to Amanda's parent's house and waited for the other group to get back that had gotten pizza. We then all ate dinner and it was so good!!! We had an interesting episode where JJ and Madison both got attacked by a wasp. The kids had been eating outside at a patio table, and apparently that wasp was angry!!! Once we got all the kids inside and the two bitten taken care of we continued to talk and have fun together. We eventually played a game called what's yours like and it is so much fun!!!! Once we were done with that it was time for bed, everyone including the kids were exhausted.
Sunday morning, Ben, Sara, Kaidyn, and I woke up early, got ready and headed out to church. Their ward is really friendly half the people who saw me kept asking if I was new in the ward. Their ward has Sacrament meeting last just like mine does so it wasn't completely weird for me to be in it.  During Sacrament I sat next to this cute elderly lady who kept telling everyone who I was and that I was visiting from Idaho where I go to school. Ben helped passed the sacrament and his seat was stolen in the process of him being gone. Sara and Kaidyn had to leave during Sunday school because Kaidyn got upset during nursery and threw up all down Sara. :( After church we had some lunch and Liz and Joe arrived with their kids and got changed out of their church clothes and after we had all our water bottles filled we were ready to hit the road. The car ride was interesting with quite a few stops, but what can you expect with 4 kids. :) I know in all honesty it wasn't even that bad, just crazy compared to how the kids were on they way down. Once back in Meridian we unpacked the car, made PB & J for the kids, and then after scriptures and prayers sent them to bed. Liz and I just enjoyed the rest of the evening together doing what sisters do best, chatting! :)
